L’apprentissage est un débat récurrent au sein de la société, comme en témoignent le nombre d’écoles alternatives, de rapports d’échecs scolaires[1]et de réformes de l’éducation nationale par chaque nouveau ministre[2]. C’est aussi un thème qui émerge des pratiques et des espaces de coworking[3]. En effet, le coworking est une question de communauté (co) et de travail (working) et cela inclut de l’apprentissage social. Et quand une communauté de travail décide d’apprendre ensemble sur le thème « Apprendre au bout de ma rue… en 2019 ! », on en tire un événement génial !!

Cet événement, le premier World Café de Sceaux Smart[5], a eu lieu le 20 février de 18h à 20h dans l’espace de coworking, transformé en espace événementiel. L’espace était organisé
En octobre 2018, j’ai eu l’opportunité d’initier à Paris-Dauphine un cours de master sur les transformations du travail à l’ère du digital. Il s’agissait de comprendre les liens entre évolutions du travail et nouvelles formes d’organisation et de management. Dans l’esprit, cet enseignement était aussi l’occasion d’essayer de lier des pratiques souvent séparées (pédagogie et recherche). Les débats, le faire et l’analyse s’entremêlaient avec des séances hors les murs. Une partie des heures devait ainsi se passer sur le terrain, dans ces lieux où se construit l’objet même du cours : espaces de coworking, labs d’entreprise, makerspaces, hackerspaces, associations militantes, coopératives…

Academics in the area of management are often invited to draw managerial implications about their research. This is often part of a section called “managerial implications” or “implications for practice” (in scientific journals). Most of the time, this results in extremely expected and unsurprising things. Beyond that, I have always found strange to put myself in the shoes of a manager… who will never read my article.
Research about work and workplace transformations could be a unique opportunity to make a key managerial contribution: rethinking management teaching.
What is the focus of most teachings today? I would say structures, tools, techniques, procedures and projects.
What is already a key lesson of most research about work and workplace transformations, the so-called end of waged employment, and the generalization of entrepreneurship? First of all, I would like to say that I really like UTS new building designed by Franck Gehry. It makes me think about Gaudi’s productions in Barcelona. The façade is amazing. The stairs (see picture below) and new amphitheaters are highly iconic. Volumes, lights, wood, glasses, are part of a great aesthetic experience.
But I wonder if all this really leaves a room for everyday activities of administrative and technical staff, academics and students. Making a tour of the place (with a major academic of UTS) was a fantastic experience. But the day after this visit, I started wondering about something. A couple of years ago, campus and academic buildings were designed first. Then, they were enacted through campus tours with parents and prospective students.
